Pierre Lellouche currently serves as the French state secretary for European affairs. Previously president of the French Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of NATO, he was elected in November 2004 as chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of NATO. Mr. Lellouche is a member of the Commission of Defense and Armed Forces of the National Assembly; the Delegation for the European Union and Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of Friendship France-India; and chairs the Study Group on Industry weapons. In January 2005, he was appointed general delegate to the defense of the movement, with Nicolas Sarkozy. He is the author of the proposal bill to increase penalties for offenses that racist or anti-Semitic, adopted unanimously by the National Assembly in 2002. Mr. Lellouche has chaired several missions and has published reports on parliamentary taxation of the art market, food security, proliferation, defense issues disarmament, and status and protection of journalists during wartime.
