Clara Shih launched Hearsay Social in 2011 to help businesses tap the power of social media. Hearsay Social provides social business software for relationship managers to attract, retain, and grow customer relationships using popular networks, enabling brands to control their message and minimize risk while still empowering their local reps to engage with customers. Having worked in a variety of roles at Google, Microsoft, and, Shih was one of the first people to grasp the commercial potential of social networks. She developed the first social business app in 2007 and detailed her vision in the New York Times best seller The Facebook Era, which has been used in classes at Harvard Business School. A member of the Starbucks board of directors, she’s been named one of Fortune’s “Most Powerful Women Entrepreneurs,” Fast Company’s “Most Influential People in Technology” and Businessweek’s “Top Young Entrepreneurs.”
