Professor Naomi Segal is Director of the Institute of Germanic & Romance Studies. She has chaired or served on numerous national and international committees including the AUPHF, the AHRC, the British Academy Panel for Europe and the Standing Committee for the Humanities of the European Science Foundation. She is the author of 60 articles and ten books, most recently Indeterminate Bodies (2003, coedited), Le Désir à l’Œuvre (2000, edited), André Gide: Pederasty & Pedagogy (1998), and Coming Out of Feminism? (1997: coedited). She has published on the French récit, the novel of adultery, triangles in Fatal Attraction and The Piano, birds and boys in Gide and Barrie, and Princess Diana. Her latest monograph, entitled Consensuality: Didier Anzieu, gender and the sense of touch, will published by Rodopi in 2009.
