Biography

Ambassasor Liu Guijin is the Chinese Special Representative on the Darfur Issue. Ambassasor Liu Guijin, was born in August 1945, a native of Shandong province and a University graduate. He started his early career as a staff member at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He further became a Third Secretary and Second Secretary at the Chinese Embassy in the Republic of Kenya. Mr. Guijin has also served as the Second Secretary, Deputy Division Chief and Chief African Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has extensive experience of working in Africa as he served in various countries as the Counsellor in the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia; Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Republic of Zimbabwe; Director-General, African Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was formerly an Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of South Africa.
