Stephanie Lederman is Executive Director of the American Federation for Aging Research (AFAR), a leading, not-for-profit organization supporting biomedical research on aging. Under Ms. Lederman's leadership over the past 15 years, AFAR has grown into an organization that has been able to contribute nearly 93 million dollars to more than 2,200 new investigators and students conducting biomedical research on the aging process and age-related diseases. During the course of her career in the not-for-profit sector, Ms. Lederman has served as executive director of The Children's Health Fund and The National Center for Health Education. She also has held leadership positions at The American Red Cross in Greater New York, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and The American Heart Association. She holds a master's degree from Boston University. She is a Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine and a member of the New York Academy of Sciences.
