Jamie Grifo is the Program Director of the New York University Fertility Center. Since 1995 he has been the Director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology at the NYU School of Medicine where he also holds the faculty appointment of Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He received his MD and PhD degrees at Case Western Reserve School of Medicine, he completed his residency at Cornell University Medical Center and a Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology at Yale University. He is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology. A member of the ASRM since 1989, Dr. Grifo has served on the Ethics Committee and is past president of the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technologies (SART). His scientific interests are focused in the area of pre-implantation genetic diagnosis and his team had the first successful delivery in the United States from the embryo biopsy procedure. Subsequently, there have been thousands of babies born by PGD worldwide.
