Nick Mamatas is the author of several novels, including the San Francisco zombie novel "The Last Weekend" and the Lovecraftian murder mystery "I Am Providence." His short fiction has appeared in Asimov's Science Fiction, "Best American Mystery Stories," "The Year's Best Science Fiction and Fantasy," and many other magazines and anthologies. By day Nick edits fiction for Haikasoru, an imprint dedicated to Japanese science fiction and fantasy in translation—there he edited "Battle Royale," "All You Need Is Kill" (basis for the Tom Cruise film "Edge of Tomorrow"), the acclaimed anthology "The Future is Japanese," and the hit space opera series "Legend of the Galactic Heroes." Nick's fiction and editorial work has been nominated for the Hugo, World Fantasy, Bram Stoker, and Locus Awards.
