Biography

Angela Brown Burke’s advocacy and leadership skills began to take shape while attending Wolmer’s School for Girls in the 1970s. There she actively advocated for student's rights and participated in the debating club, the Girls Brigade and several other school organizations. Her political activities are an outgrowth of her love for community service which began in her early days on Oxford Street in West Kingston. At the age of 16 she moved to the coastal town of Yallahs, St. Thomas, where she served as Secretary of the Yallahs Community Council.
