Holly Pope is a 2nd year doctoral student at Stanford Graduate School of Education in the Curriculum Studies and Teacher Education program, concentrating on Mathematics Education. She has been an educator for 15 years, beginning with teaching preschool/daycare and elementary school in urban public school settings. She also served as a math coach/curriculum coordinator for 5 years at a K-8 charter school before continuing her studies at Stanford. Her current interests include issues of equity and access to quality mathematics instruction for all students and families at all levels of the education system. She also works to provide transformative professional development for practicing and preservice teachers around research-based practices that promote equitable math instruction in classrooms. Her previous education includes a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Gannon University, and a B.S. in Elementary Education from Geneva College.
