Lee Glendinning was appointed editor of Guardian US in June 2015. She has built a career in journalism spanning over 15 years and three continents, holding senior roles in the UK, US and her native Australia, where she was a lead member of the team that launched Guardian Australia in 2013. She joined Guardian US in 2014 as deputy editor and head of news, overseeing major investigative stories such the revelations about widespread abuse at a secret police detention facility in Chicago and “The Counted,” a year-long interactive project documenting police brutality across America. She began her career on the Sydney Morning Herald, before joining the Guardian as a reporter in 2006.
