Bernice Yeung is a reporter for The Center for Investigative Reporting. She has covered topics ranging from human trafficking to domestic violence against immigrant women to wrongful convictions. Her work has appeared in a variety of media outlets, including The New York Times, the Guardian US, Mother Jones, KQED-FM and PBS Frontline. Most recently, she was part of a reporting team that exposed a loophole in pesticide use that put Californians at greater cancer risk. She was also part of the “Rape in the Fields” reporting team, a project that won an Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Award and a Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award, and which prompted legislative and community efforts to combat the sexual assault of female farm workers.
