Matthew E. Roy was appointed Vice President, Human Resources - Americas for Mercedes-Benz Financial Services USA, LLC in May 2012, reporting to Peter Zieringer, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Financial Services. In his current position, Roy is responsible for all Human Resources activities for Mercedes-Benz Financial Services USA LLC, as well as the other Daimler Financial Services entities within the Americas region, which includes operations in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Mexico and the United States.
Prior to his current position, Roy was Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary in charge of all legal activities for Mercedes-Benz Financial Services USA LLC, as well as the other Daimler Financial Services entities within the Americas region.
Roy joined the company in November, 1998 as Staff Counsel and was appointed Assistant General Counsel in 2000, where he was responsible for commercial affairs. Before joining the company, Roy worked as a Judicial Clerk to Hon. Nancy C. Dreher and Hon. Walter Shapero of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. He began as an associate at Oppenheimer Wolff & Donnelly law firm and later became a partner in 1998.
Matt Roy earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan in May, 1987 and his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Tulane University Law School in May, 1990. He is a member of the bars of Michigan, Illinois and Minnesota.
