Biography

David Weigel is a political reporter for Slate and a contributor to MSNBC. He’s a 2004 graduate of Northwestern University whose work has appeared in The Washington Post, GQ, Esquire, USA Today, Campaigns & Elections, Time.com, (Washington) City Paper, The Guardian, The American Prospect, The American Conservative, The American Spectator, The Washington Monthly, Politico, and The Nation.

From 2006 through 2010, David’s reporting focused on the American conservative movement. He covered the Ron Paul and Bob Barr campaigns for Reason, and covered the remaking of the right for the Washington Independent. He is an occasional commentator on cable news, and has appeared on NPR’s Fresh Air and PRI’s This American Life to discuss his reporting. His Slate blog, the curiously-named “Weigel,” was named one of Time magazine’s best blogs of 2011.

David currently lives in the Columbia Heights neighborhood of Washington, D.C.
