Bill Emerson is chief executive officer of Quicken Loans, Inc., the nation’s largest online home loan lender and fourth largest retail mortgage lender. Bill is responsible for the leadership and growth of Quicken Loans.

Bill joined the company in 1993 as a mortgage banker, and after taking on several roles in the company, was promoted to CEO in 2002.

Detroit-based Quicken Loans employs 10,000 team members and closed a record $80 billion in mortgages in 2013. The company earned the highest rating for customer satisfaction among all U.S. home loan lenders in a study by J.D. Power in 2013, 2012, 2011 and 2010. Quicken Loans has also been featured in several national and local best workplace lists including FORTUNE magazine, Computerworld magazine and Detroit Free Press.

Bill is an active spokesman for the housing industry and has testified before the United States Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs. For the 2014 membership year, Bill will serve as the Vice Chair of the Mortgage Bankers Association.

Bill earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Penn State, where he was a member of the University’s 1982 National Championship football team.
