Speaker - Chris Dixon

A successful entrepreneur in his own right, Chris Dixon began investing in other startups in 2009 and soon established himself as a brilliant predictor of market disruption, with early stakes in Pinterest, Kickstarter, Dropbox, Uber, Foursquare, BuzzFeed, Warby Parker, Makerbot, and others. Now Dixon—a general partner with the venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz—is investing in Bitcoin software start-ups, optimistic that the digital currency will prove to be an important global payment platform and a critical new protocol for wide scale innovation. Dixon began his career as a programmer. In 2005 he cofounded the web security firm SideAdvisor, which was quickly snapped up by McAfee. Two years later he cofounded the recommendation service Hunch, serving as CEO; when eBay acquired that company in 2011, he remained on to manage the integration.
