Biography

Jamie Gold, CKD, CAPS is an NKBA-certified, independent kitchen and bath designer and a Certified Aging in Place Specialist in San Diego, Cal. Her first book, New Kitchen Ideas That Work, was published in December 2012 by Taunton Press. Jamie's design philosophy is one she calls Sensible Style, where each project is customized to the client's lifestyle needs, budget, home and neighborhood - be it a modest tract home bath or a custom mansion's showplace kitchen. Jamie brings this same Sensible Style philosophy and hands-on design experience to the articles she writes for numerous publications. She has been published in Fine Homebuilding, Signature Kitchens & Baths, Kitchen + Bath Business, Houzz.com, HouseLogic.com and many other print and online media. She is also a regular contributor to the San Diego Union-Tribune. Her design blog, Gold Notes: Nuggets from the World of Residential Design, publishes weekly and can be found on her website. In addition to writing and designing, Jamie frequently speaks to trade and consumer groups, and consults for major housing industry corporations and Wall Street analysts on product development and trends.
