Speaker - Stefani Greenfield

Retail, or even fashion, was never her goal: Stefani Greenfield pursued her dreams of becoming a copywriter or lyricist, but noticed that along the way people constantly commented on what she was wearing. Mixing vintage pieces with the pieces her grandmother procured from the “Three B’s” (Bergdorf’s, Bonwit’s, and Bloomingdale’s), Ms. Greenfield combined uptown chic with cool effortlessly. She dreamed of one day creating the “ultimate closet.”

In 1989, she was hired as an Assistant to the Vice President of Donna Karan’s new DKNY collection. After rising, in five years, to head DKNY Jeans, Ms. Greenfield moved to ESPRIT where she was named Vice President in charge of merchandising and design.

At age 27, she left corporate America for a new challenge: Ms. Greenfield sought to create a retail sensation by realizing her long-held dream. She launched her “ultimate closet,” SCOOP, in 1996 with her partner Uzi Ben Abraham. SCOOP became a phenomenon, and now includes 14 stores nationwide.

With the formation of My Next Act, her consulting company focusing on fashion and entertainment, Ms. Greenfield is now beginning another chapter in her career. She creates, builds, and markets brands. Along with partner Desiree Gruber, Owner and Founder of Full Picture and Creator of Project Runway, she recently launched the accessories brand Theodora & Callum. In November of 2011, Greenfield was named Chief Creative Officer of The Jones Group.

Ms. Greenfield is married to financial investor Mitchell Silverman, and they have a six-year-old daughter, Theodora.
