David Belt is the founder and Executive Director of Macro Sea. David is an active real estate developer who has developed a diverse range of projects that vary widely in size, scope, and location.
David is also the founder and Managing Partner of DBI, a firm specializing in real estate development, construction consulting and project management. DBI has successfully developed and managed residential, educational, non-profit, commercial, high-end retail and infrastructure projects.
David is engaged in a number of philanthropic activities. He has consulted and donated services and intellectual capital to the Robin Hood Foundation related to the build-out of nonprofit facilities throughout NYC, and is a member of the Advisory Council of the Philadelphia-based Community Design Collaborative. He also serves on the board of Rooftop Films and St. John's Bread and Life, and the lead investor of Socialvest.
Currently, David and Macro Sea are working on a redevelopment in Philadelphia to create a new home for Brooklyn-based 3rd Ward art collective, including artist studios, workshops, and classroom space. They are also developing a concept called Project 128, which will bring interdisciplinary high-tech fabrication and collaboration to a former shipbuilding facility in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
