Biography

Jerry Cook is Vice President of Government and Trade Relations for Hanesbrands Inc. Mr. Cook joined Hanesbrands Inc. in 1987 and managed various engineering functions and strategic planning roles. In his current strategic role, Mr. Cook overseas various trade, government, global connectivity, and Department of Homeland Security/customs programs. He is the Hanesbrands customs account manager and oversees the Hanesbrands CTPAT program.

Mr. Cook has served as a Department of Commerce ITAC-13 Advisor for textile and apparel-related products as well as ITAC-14 Customs. He is intimately involved in the trade-related agreements and the development of key strategic relations with the U.S. government, U.S. Congress, state governments, WTO, and WCO as well as other nations.

He has been appointed to the Cotton Board, U.S. Treasury Advisory Committee for Customs Commercial Operations (COAC) and is a member and founding/charter member with Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Mr. Cook is a licensed U.S. Customs Broker. He was recently named the Chair of the United States Chamber of International Business Customs Committee.

Hanesbrands Inc.’s leading brands include Hanes, Hanes Her Way, Bali, Champion, Just My Size, L’eggs and Playtex with sales of $4 billion annually. The company operates several operations in Central America, the Carribbean, Asia and Mid-­‐East.

Mr. Cook is a graduate of Auburn University, married with two daughters and resides in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
