Ellen Looyen, America’s Leader in Personal Branding, founded Ellen Looyen Communications (ELC) in 1988; and she was one of the first on the radar screen (especially in the late 80’s) to discuss the importance of personal branding, emotional intelligence and charismatic influence.
Always a pioneer, Ellen was one of the first women in sales and marketing in Corporate America, where she distinguished herself as a sales and training leader at both IBM and Xerox. Ellen has a BA in Philosophy from Temple University in Philadelphia; and her work has been enthusiastically endorsed by the best-selling, Guerrilla Marketing author, Jay Conrad Levinson. She is the author of Branding with Charisma; and she is featured as the branding expert in C.J. Hayden's best-selling book, Get Clients Now. Ellen is also a frequent branding commentator on San Francisco’s #1 radio station, KGO NewsTalk 810.
For over two decades, Ellen has worked with all types of individuals and organizations, from start-ups, professional services and non-profits, to major corporations such as Goldman Sachs, Visa and Wells Fargo. Whether it’s a corporate individual seeking career advancement, or an entrepreneur wanting to grow a business, Ellen helps her clients articulate the uniqueness and value of their "brand" identity in a more charismatic and emotionally compelling way.
As a branding specialist, keynote speaker, mentor/coach and professional development trainer, Ellen has a unique talent for distilling the essence of people, products and services to discover what's most unique, valuable and compelling about them. My Personal Brand Advantage, Ellen’s unique, self-paced, e-learning program teaches executives, corporate professionals, entrepreneurs and salespeople, how to build a successful personal brand and how to access "The Charismatic Zone of Influence" to empower their communications, enhance their effectiveness and become more charismatic leaders (and she is especially passionate about facilitating Leadership programs for women).
Originally a Native New Yorker, Ellen chose to live and work in the San Francisco Bay Area over twenty years ago because of her love of nature and the outdoors. Most days, she can be found hiking one of the many gorgeous Bay Area trails with her beloved Black Lab and other good friends.
