Wes Moore is a youth advoÂcate, Army comÂbat vetÂeran, promisÂing busiÂness leader and author.
Moore gradÂuÂated Phi Theta Kappa as a comÂmisÂsioned offiÂcer from ValÂley Forge MilÂiÂtary ColÂlege in 1998 and Phi Beta Kappa from Johns Hopkins UniÂverÂsity in 2001 with a bachelor's degree in InterÂnaÂtional RelaÂtions. At Johns Hopkins he was honÂored by the MaryÂland ColÂlege FootÂball Hall of Fame. He comÂpleted an MLitt in InterÂnaÂtional RelaÂtions from Oxford UniÂverÂsity as a Rhodes Scholar in 2004. Moore was a paraÂtrooper and CapÂtain in the United States Army, servÂing a comÂbat tour of duty in Afghanistan with the elite 1st Brigade of the 82nd AirÂborne DiviÂsion in 2005â€“2006. Moore spearÂheaded the AmerÂiÂcan strategic supÂport plan for the Afghan RecÂonÂcilÂiÂation ProÂgram that unites forÂmer insurÂgents with the new Afghan GovÂernÂment. He is recÂogÂnized as an authorÂity on the rise and ramÂiÂfiÂcaÂtions of radical Islamism in the WestÂern HemiÂsphere. A White House FelÂlow from 2006â€“2007, Moore served as a SpeÂcial AssisÂtant to SecÂreÂtary of State Condoleezza Rice. FolÂlowÂing his time at the White House, Moore became an investÂment proÂfesÂsional in New York at CitÂiÂgroup, focusÂing on global technology and alterÂnaÂtive investÂments. In 2009 he was selected as an Asia SociÂety FelÂlow. Moore was named one of Ebony magazine's "Top 30 Leaders Under 30" for 2007 and Crain's New York BusiÂness' "40 Under 40 RisÂing Stars" in 2009.
