Muhammad Al-Sabah Al-Salim Al-Sabah was born in 1955 and has a bachelor's degree in Economics from Claremont College in California and a Doctorate degree from Harvard University in the United States. He has held a number of posts starting as a lecturer in the Economics department at the College of Commerce, Economics and Political Sciences in Kuwait, between 1979 to 1988. He worked at the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research between 1987 to 1988. He was appointed as an ambassador of Kuwait to the US in 1993 until he was appointed as a State Minister for Foreign Affairs in February 14, 2001. On July 14, 2003, he was appointed as Foreign Minister and acting Minister of Social Affairs and Labor.
