About this series

Now in its 24th season, the award winning Great Decisions Television Series is the longest running television program devoted solely to international affairs and foreign policy, now airing in high-definition. The Great Decisions Television Series is broadcast each year on PBS stations nationwide. Each show offers a wide variety of expert analysis and opinion in order to examine all sides of a foreign policy issue in 2009, with host Ralph Begleiter, former world affairs correspondent for CNN.

Featured guests include former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, CNN's Christiane Amanpour, and World Food Programme Ambassador Drew Barrymore. In 2009, the series includes its first ever on-location special, a country profile of Egypt titled, "From Pharaohs to Facebook: Egypt Today."
