About this event

Join filmmaker Oliver Stone – director of films and documentaries including Platoon, Wall Street and South of the Border – in conversation with Salon founder and CEO David Talbot. They will be discussing Stone’s upcoming Showtime series, The Untold History of the United States and his latest book On History: Tariq Ali and Oliver Stone in Conversation. They will be exploring how these hidden chapters of American history provide context for the rapid emergence of the Occupy Movement and the prospects for this populist upheaval leading to an American Spring.

Additionally, Stone – who directed JFK – and Talbot – who wrote the best-seller Brothers: The Hidden History of the Kennedy Years – will discuss their investigations into the infamous assassinations of the Kennedy brothers and their impact on American history. Expect a fearless dialogue between one of Hollywood’s most controversial figures and the author and entrepreneur hailed by Newsweek as “one of 50 people who matter most in the new media world.”
