Dec 22, 2011 to Carry Intelligence Squared U.S. Spring 2012 Debate Series Featuring Propositions on Topics from Palestine Statehood to Banning College Football to Political Discourse in the Online Age, the leading online destination for video programs from the world’s best conferences and events, today announced that it will partner with New York's premier live debate series, Intelligence Squared U.S. (IQ2US) to broadcast its Spring 2012 series of five debates live online – as they happen -- and on-demand afterwards. The first debate of the Spring 2012 season will take place on January 10 at the NYU Skirball Center in New York City with a divisive and timely proposition: The U.N. should Admit Palestine as a full member state. After 20 years of failed talks with Israel, can the recent plea by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to the U.N. really serve as an effective way to create a two state solution? Or is Palestine setting the peace process back by bypassing negotiations?

In support of the motion are Mustafa Barghouthi, Former Palestinian National Authority Presidential Candidate, and Daniel Levy, Former Israeli Government Negotiator & J Street Co-Founder. Against the motion are Aaron David Miller, Former U.S. Mideast Negotiator, and advisor to Republican and Democratic Secretaries of State, and Dore Gold, former Israel Ambassador to the United Nations.

Confirmed panelists include best-selling author and New Yorker writer Malcolm Gladwell; New York Times bestselling author Dr. Pamela Peeke;’s Eli Pariser; Fox News’ John Stossel; and Slate Editor-in-Chief Jacob Weisberg. U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Regina Benjamin has been invited to participate and additional panelists will be announced soon.
