Tristan Walker is an icon in the technology industry, rising to celebrity status through his incredible instincts and ability to recognize the "next big thing" in tech while working at both Twitter and Foursquare in their early stages, successfully navigating racial barriers, and serving as the first African American entrepreneur-in-residence at venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz. He is currently the founder and CEO of Walker & Co. Brands, a successful startup catering to the shaving needs of African American men.
Everette Taylor, CMO, Skurt
Everette Taylor currently serves as VP of Marketing at Skurt – the mobility company which delivers cars on-demand. Taylor started in marketing at the age of 14 and started his first company at 19, successfully selling it two years later. He founded the tech marketing firm MilliSense where he served as CEO, co-founded GrowthHackers where he served as VP of Growth, and recently founded the company GrowthPup - an Instagram marketing tool.
His work also includes serving as CMO of the e-commerce company Sticker Mule, leading marketing at Qualaroo which was acquired by Xenon Ventures, and serving as an advisor to We Are Onyx - a beauty box subscription service for black women.
Tristan is Founder and CEO of Walker & Company Brands, a family of brands designing health and beauty solutions for people of color. Its flagship brand, Bevel, provides grooming products and services designed to help reduce razor bumps and skin irritation. Tristan has been named a USA Today Person of the Year in 2014, Ebony Magazine's 100 Most Powerful People, Vanity Fair's "Next Establishment," Fortune Magazine's 40 Under 40, AdAge Creative 50, and Black Enterprise's 40 Next.
Prior to founding Walker & Company Brands, Tristan was an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Andreessen Horowitz. Before that he served as the Director of Business Development for foursquare, where he oversaw strategic partnerships and monetization. Tristan holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Stony Brook University, where he graduated as valedictorian, and an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. Tristan is also the Founder and Chairman of CODE2040, a program that matches high performing Black and Latino undergraduate and graduate coders and software engineering students with Silicon Valley start-ups for summer internships. He currently lives with his wife and son in Palo Alto, California.
