James Clift is the Policy Director of the Michigan Environmental Council. The Michigan Environmental Council is an umbrella organization of over 65 environmental, public health and faith-based organizations located across Michigan. The Michigan Environmental Council (MEC) works primarily with the legislature and executive branch to protect natural resources and public health of our citizens. In that role, the Michigan Environmental Council has advocated for policies which support our transition to clean energy.
Andy Hoffman is the Holcim (US) Professor of Sustainable Enterprise at the University of Michigan; a position that holds joint appointments at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business and the School of Natural Resources & Environment. Andy also serves as Education Director of the Graham Sustainability Institute. Professor Hoffman's research uses a sociological perspective to understand the cultural and institutional aspects of environmental issues for organizations. In particular, he focuses on the processes by which environmental issues both emerge and evolve as social, political and managerial issues.
Jamil Smith is a Senior National Correspondent with MTV News. Most recently, he was a Senior Editor at New Republic, where he wrote and edited columns and features for both print and digital. There, Smith also hosted the podcast INTERSECTION, which dealt with identity politics. Prior to that, he served as a segment producer for "The Rachel Maddow Show" and "Melissa Harris-Perry." Smith's bylines have also appeared in the Washington Post, Ebony.com, and theGrio. Previous stops include NFL Films, HBO Sports, CNN and the William Morris Agency.
William A. Stough is the President and CEO of Sustainable Research Group, a consultancy that provides environmentally sustainable solutions to business, governmental and institutional clients. He has over 30 years experience in pollution prevention, industrial ecology and sustainable business initiatives. Mr. Stough specializes in the design and implementation of sustainable development business strategies, creation of regional sustainable business networks, and developing baseline performance profiles to help establish an organization’s ecological footprint.
