Marie Soulière
Born in Sherbrooke, QC, Canada, Marie completed her B.Sc. in Pharmacology at the Université de Sherbrooke (2002-2005) before moving on to M.Sc. and Ph.D. on the Department of Biochemistry under the supervision of Profs. Martin Bisaillon & Jean-Pierre Perreault at the same institution (2005-2010), studying capping enzymes kinetics and thermodynamics, ribozymes and general virology and RNA biology. She then flew to Austria for a post-doctoral fellowship in Biological and Biophysical Chemistry at the Leopold-Franzens University of Innsbruck in the group of Prof. Ronald Micura (2010-2013, supported by EMBO long-term fellowship for 2 years, followed by FWF Lise-Meitner fellowship). During this post-doctoral training she worked mainly on the characterization of riboswitches and their implication in bacteria gene regulation.
During this academic training, she shared her science through presentations in national and international conferences in over 20 conferences on 3 continents, receiving a large number of presentation awards reflecting her eagerness for scientific communication. She was also strongly involved in the writing of all her scientific publications, as well as reviewing other researchers' work for international peer-reviewed Journals.
She moved to Switzerland to join the Frontiers team in April 2013 and is now a Program Manager for the Physical Sciences and Engineering Program, as well as Journal Manager for Frontiers in Chemistry, Frontiers in Energy Research, and Frontiers in Astronomy & Space Sciences.
