Sunita Narain has been with the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) since 1982. She is currently the director general of the Centre and the director of the Society for Environmental Communications and publisher of the fortnightly magazine, Down To Earth.
Sheela Patel is the Founding Director of the Society for the Promotion of Area Resource Centers (SPARC), a Mumbai-based NGO that has been working since 1984 with two grassroots Organizations of the urban poor: the National Slum Dwllers Federation and Mahila Milan (Women’s Collective). The purpose of SPARC is to help communities negotiate the right to better housing, infrastructure, and access to finances.
Dr. Bimal Patel has over 25 years of professional, research and teaching experience in architecture, urban design and urban planning. He divides his time between two institutions. He is President of CEPT University in Ahmedabad, which is focused on the architecture, planning, design, construction and management of human habitats. Dr. Patel is also Director at HCP Design Planning and Management Pvt. Ltd. This fifty-year-old professional firm’s architectural, urban design and urban planning work is internationally recognized. Dr. Patel has received several national and international awards.
