Glenn Brown spearheaded the launch of Twitter Amplify in 2013 and serves as senior director of the program. Many people now watch television with a second screen in hand, and Amplify provides a way to link the two platforms in real time: TV advertisers can use promoted tweets to engage with viewers who have just seen a commercial. Networks and content providers like Major League Baseball can send sponsored video clips, launching conversations and encouraging more viewers to tune in. The program is also being extended to publishers like The New York Times and even movie theaters. Before joining Twitter in 2011, Brown was head of music partnerships at YouTube and an in-house counsel on privacy and copyright at Google. Earlier, he served as executive director of Creative Commons.
