Steven Levy has been covering the digital revolution for more than 25 years. Before joining WIRED in 2008, he was chief technology correspondent at Newsweek. He is the author of seven books, most recently the New York Times best seller In the Plex: How Google Thinks, Works, and Shapes Our Lives. Other books include Insanely Great, on the history of Apple's Macintosh computer, and Hackers, which was named the best tech book of the PC era by PC Magazine.
RJ Pittman leads product and development strategy for eBay’s core Marketplaces business, which serves more than 150 million buyers and sellers worldwide. Before he joined eBay in October 2013, Pittman was head of Apple’s ecommerce platform, responsible for design, technology, and commerce innovation. In addition, he drove integration with Apple Retail and led an international expansion team responsible for developing commerce opportunities in 38 countries. Pittman was also responsible for online revenue growth across Apple’s key product lines including iPhone, iPad, Mac, and iPod. Before Apple he spent three years leading product management for Google’s consumer search properties; he also created Google Music and redesigned Google Labs and the way teams brought betas to market. Earlier, he was cofounder and CEO of the visual search engine startup Groxis and an epayments company Digital Courier Technologies, as well as managing partner of the VC firm Venture Factory.
