Vanessa Schneider is Geo Media Program Manager at Google. She moved to California to join the Google Maps team more than three years ago and has since been working on user outreach and education. Her most recent focus has taken her to newsrooms around the world, working with broadcast and digital media using the company’s many mapping tools to tell stories. Before joining Google, Vanessa worked at The New York Times for several years as a community specialist, Time Inc. as a researcher and reporter, and at New York startup Hot Potato, acquired by Facebook in summer 2010.
