Nicholas Platt serves as President Emeritius of Asia Society. He was formerly an American diplomat in Asia for thirty-four years, serving as a US Ambassador to the Phillipines and Pakistan. In the 1970s, he was one of the first members of the U.S. Liaison Office in Beijing.
