Developmental geneticist and professor of molecular biology at ETH Zurich Ernst Hafen describes the imperative to use healthcare data to make medicine more efficient.
Ernst Hafen is a Professor of Systems Genetics at ETH Zurich and former President of ETH. In addition to 26 years of academic research, he has founded and advised several biotechnology companies. He is the Chief Scientific Officer of HealthBank, which is undertaking the development and deployment of an open standard, citizen-owned global healthcare data platform. Ernst endeavors to assist scientific discovery and its efficient translation into products that help society and the economy. He has a PhD in developmental genetics from the University of Basel.
