Charline De Luca
Born and raised in Rome, where she developed a taste for beauty and perfection, Charline De Luca attended the American School before moving to New York to study architecture. While earning her B.A. at New York Institute of Technology, she developed her great passion for shoes.
Ms. De Luca moved back to Rome in 2009 and worked for Fendi in the retail design department. This experience convinced her to concentrate on her own project. In 2010, she moved to London to attend Central Saint Martins College of Fashion and, in early 2011, Ms. De Luca started work on her first collection.
In July 2012, she was named third best at the Who Is On Next? international competition organized by Vogue Italia and Altaroma. Her Zaha shoe from the 2012/13 Autumn/Winter collection was selected for the recent Shoe Obsession exhibit at The Museum of The Fashion Institute of Technology, which featured more than 150 examples of extraordinary shoe styles of the 21st-century fashion.
Elizabeth Kanfer is Senior Fashion Director of Accessories at Saks Fifth Avenue.
Ms. Kanfer first joined Saks in 1998 as an intern in the public relations and events department, and in 2000, she was appointed Coordinator, Fashion Merchandising Office. She has held numerous roles of increasing responsibility within the fashion merchandising office, including Junior Market Editor, Market Editor, and Fashion Director of Accessories.
In her most recent role as Fashion Director of Accessories, Ms. Kanfer has pushed Saks’ fashion quotient forward while balancing commercial elements to drive sales volume. During the past 18 months, she coordinated the 10022-SHOE re-launch campaign for fall and spearheaded the company gifting initiatives for 2012.
Ms. Kanfer holds a bachelor of science degree in international trade from the Fashion Institute of Technology.
Isa Tapia is a shoe designer based in Manhattan. She studied at Parsons School of Design, interning with Marc Jacobs and, during her senior year, began an apprenticeship with Oscar de la Renta. During this time, Ms. Tapia embarked on her first trips to Italy, living between Florence and New York, and falling in love with the art of shoe making.
Since then her career has led her to work with various companies, designing all types of accessories ranging from handbags to jewelry.
In spring 2012 Ms. Tapia launched her namesake label aiming “to make feminine shoes that are bold, colorful and have a point of view.” Inspired by her fast-paced lifestyle and the women around her, she brings downtown appeal to uptown design, making glamorous shoes for every day.
