Diane Sullivan, President & Chief Executive Officer, Brown Shoe Company, explains why building the company of the future is personal.
Diane Sullivan is President and Chief Executive Officer of Brown Shoe Company. In 2004, she joined the company as President, in March 2006 she received the additional title of Chief Operating Officer and in May 2011, she became Chief Executive Officer as well as President.
Prior to joining Brown Shoe Company, Ms. Sullivan served as Vice Chairman of the Footwear Group of Phillips-Van Heusen from 2001 to 2003. Prior to joining Phillips-Van Heusen, Ms. Sullivan was President and Chief Operating Officer of Stride Rite Corporation, where she worked from 1995 until 2001 and also held the position of Group President for Tommy Hilfiger, Stride Rite Children’s, and Sperry.
Locally, Ms. Sullivan serves on the board of directors of BJC HealthCare and is a member of Civic Progress and the Enterprise Holdings Inc. board of directors. She previously served on the board of directors of Barnes-Jewish Hospital as Chair of the Patient Care, Quality, and Safety Committee.
In addition, Ms. Sullivan serves on the boards of the Two Ten Footwear Foundation, the Footwear Distributors and Retailers of American and FFANY. She also serves on the advisory board of the Jay H. Baker Retailing Center at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Ms. Sullivan and her husband Mike have two married children.
