Courtney Colavita, Worldwide Director, Social Media, Gucci shares how social merchandising helps target today's connected consumers.
As Worldwide Director of Social Media at Gucci, Courtney Colavita oversees content and engagement strategy, bringing an editorial tone to the brand’s digital platforms. In addition to the daily curation of Gucci’s owned networks, her responsibilities include creating global social media campaigns and developing the Gucci Style app.
After earning a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University, the New Jersey native cut her teeth as a reporter in Fairchild's Milan bureau, where she covered the front lines of fashion for WWD and its brother publication, DNR. During her seven-year tenure, Ms. Colavita routinely broke news from the runways and regularly profiled the world's leading designers.
In 2008, she moved back to Manhattan to take on the role of Fashion Features Editor at DETAILS magazine, where she launched and edited the monthly Style section. Ms. Colavita has also contributed to W Magazine, Wallpaper, The Wall Street Journal, Vogue Japan and was author of the Dolce & Gabbana 20th anniversary menswear book, Fashion Shows: 1990-2010.
Since joining Gucci in 2011, Ms. Colavita splits her time between Milan and New York.
