Ginni Rometty, Chairman, President, and CEO of IBM, and James Prokopanko, CEO of Mosaic, are presented with the 13th Annual Excellence Awards in Corporate Philanthropy.
2013 Excellence Awards Winner James T. Prokopanko became President and CEO of The Mosaic Company in
2007. He joined Mosaic as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in 2006. Previously, James was a Corporate Vice President at Cargill, Inc., where he had executive responsibility for procurement and served as a leader of the Cargill Ag Producer Services Platform. After joining Cargill in 1978, he served in a wide range of leadership positions, including Vice President of the North American crop inputs business. During his Cargill career, James was engaged in retail agriculture businesses in Canada, the United States, Brazil, Argentina and the United Kingdom. In addition to his role as President and CEO of Mosaic, James serves on the board of directors for Mosaic, Canpotex, the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, the Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, the Fertilizer Institute, and the International Plant Nutrition Institute.
2013 Excellence Awards Winner Ginni Rometty is Chairman, President, and CEO of IBM. Ginni began her career with IBM in 1981 and has held a series of leadership positions, most recently as Senior Vice President and Group Executive, IBM Sales, Marketing, and Strategy. In this role, she was responsible for business results in the 170 global markets in which IBM operates. IBM's revenues exceeded $107 billion in 2011. Ginni pioneered IBM's rapid expansion in the emerging economies of the world. As part of this, she established IBM’s Growth Markets organization, which is expected to contribute as much as 30 percent of IBM revenues by 2015. Ginni serves on the Council on Foreign Relations, the Board of Trustees of Northwestern University, and the Board of Overseers and Board of Managers of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
