Scott Bland
Scott Bland is the Editor of National Journal's House Race Hotline. He joined National Journal in 2009 as research assistant to Editorial Director Ronald Brownstein. Scott's other work has appeared in the Christian Science Monitor, TheAtlantic.com, the Scripps Howard Foundation Wire, and Stanford University’s alumni magazine. He graduated from Stanford in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in history. Scott is a native of Ithaca, NY.
John A. Farrell
John Aloysius Farrell is a congressional correspondent for National Journal. After graduating from the University of Virginia, he embarked on an award-winning career as a newspaperman, most notably for The Denver Post and The Boston Globe. He has covered every presidential campaign since 1976 and
has reported on two wars as well as the troubles in Northern Ireland. In 1990, Mr. Farrell moved to Washington to report for The Boston Globe, serving as White House correspondent and Washington
editor, among other assignments. He has also driven an ice cream truck, shined shoes, waited tables, cared for animals in a medical laboratory, worked construction, labored on an Israel kibbutz, and served as a gallery guard at the Masters golf tournament. In 2001, he published Tip O’Neill and the
Democratic Century, a biography of the late Speaker of the House, and in 2011 he authored Clarence Darrow: Attorney for the Damned, a biography of the great American defense lawyer.
Reid Wilson
Reid Wilson is editor-in-chief of National Journal Hotline, Washington’s premier daily tip sheet on campaigns and elections. He regularly contributes analysis of the national political environment in his weekly column, “On The Trail,” to National Journal Daily and to National Journal Magazine, as
well as writing for 2012 Decoded. He regularly appears on MSNBC, CNN, and C-SPAN and is a political contributor to Sirius-XM Radio.
Before becoming Hotline’s editor-in-chief, Mr. Wilson was editor of the political blog Hotline On Call. He has also served as a staff writer at The Hill newspaper, where he covered Congress, politics, campaigns, and elections.
Mr. Wilson spent the 2008 election cycle authoring a popular political blog at
RealClearPolitics.com and hosted a nationally-broadcast political talk show on XM Radio, on which he talked with top newsmakers, reporters, and political analysts. He has also written for The New
Republic, The Arizona Capitol Times, The Seattle Times, and The Seattle Post-Intelligencer. A native of Seattle, Mr. Wilson graduated from George Washington University.
