Cindy Wu, Denny Luan, Jennifer Shine and Paul Gu talk about open science and how crowdsourcing impacts funding.
Paul is an inaugural member of Peter Thiel’s 20under20 Fellowship. Previously, he worked on the risk team at D.E. Shaw Group, built his own automated statistical trading strategies on Interactive Brokers API, and created several web apps. Paul was a CS and Economics double major at Yale University prior to the Thiel Fellowship.
Denny Luan is founder of Microryza.
Jennifer Shine Dyer, MD, MPH, is a stylish pediatric endocrinologist, social media enthusiast, app developer, and mobile health entrepreneur in Ohio looking to make health outcomes better for people living with diabetes.
In a former life, Cindy used a videogame to re-engineer an enzyme treatment for anthrax bacteria and developed a two year love-hate relationship with dendritic cells. Cindy also likes playing in the wilderness and enjoys teaching science to little kids, both things she would like to try again in the future. For now, Cindy builds Microryza’s collection of researchers.
