Sandra Birmingham is the STEM Pipeline and Outreach Coordinator at California State University Channel Islands for Project ACCESO. Her efforts are focused on providing STEM outreach to K-12 schools and developing the STEM pipeline with regional community colleges through strategic partnerships. Before joining CSU Channel Islands, Sandy spent 5 years as a program administrator for Moving Beyond the Bell Afterschool Programs and over ten years in formal and informal educational settings. She currently serves as a member of the California After School Network¹s Leadership Team and Nominating Committee and is an ambassador emeritus for the Afterschool Alliance. She was named an Ashoka Changemaker in 2012, recognized for sourcing innovative solutions for bringing STEM into afterschool. Sandy graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and a Master of Arts degree in Education from Azusa Pacific University as well as a Teaching Credential.
