David E. Cohen
David E. Cohen is the lead attorney in charge of Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg P.A.'s first sale valuation practice, and is a member of the firm in its Washington, D.C., office. He is also a member of the firm's operating committee.
Mr. Cohen leads a team of lawyers and professionals in the Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg offices throughout the globe, assisting companies in structuring multi-tiered transactions to maximize lawful duty savings. He also focuses his practice on providing strategic advice to a wide range of clients on international trade and customs law matters including valuation, preference programs, and customs audits.
Mr. Cohen works closely with the firm's trade negotiations and legislative affairs practice to address issues before federal agencies and judicial bodies, including the development and implementation of trade laws and regulations, and representation of client interests.
Before joining the firm, Mr. Cohen served as an attorney for the U.S. Customs Service's Office of Regulations and Rulings, where he concentrated on customs and international trade matters. During his tenure at Customs headquarters, he was affiliated with the carrier rulings branch, the special classification and marking branch, and the value branch.
Mr. Cohen received his J.D. from the Marquette University Law School, and a B.B.A. in finance and risk management from the University of Wisconsin.
