Peter M. McGrath is Founder of McGrath International LLC, a consultancy firm specializing in sourcing, trade, and product development. His clients include department stores and national brands.
Mr. McGrath recently retired after 37 years from JCPenney Company Inc., one of America's largest department stores and e-commerce retailers. Mr. McGrath joined JC Penney in 1973 and held various senior level positions within the merchandising, product development, and sourcing divisions. He was ultimately named Executive Vice President and Director of Product Development and Sourcing in 2005, and led private brand strategies along with the international and domestic sourcing operations.
As a major importer of textiles and apparel, Mr. McGrath has established long-term relationships with some of the largest factories and mills around the world. He is recognized as a leader and expert in the global apparel trade and has served in a number of leadership positions within industry organizations.
Mr. McGrath previously served as Chairman for both the USA-ITA and the National Retail Federation Trade Committees, and he was a keynote speaker at many of the committee's conferences.
Currently, he serves as Chairman of Global Supply Chain for the U.S.D.A. Cotton Board.
Mr. McGrath recently became an independent director of the board of Xiniya Fashions, China's largest menswear retailer operation in over 1,300 locations.
Mr. McGrath graduated from the University of Dayton in Ohio with a B.A. in English literature.
