Tina Aldatz is founder & president of Foot Petals Inc. It was an unfortunate childhood injury that ultimately inspired the idea for her multimillion-dollar brand. After suffering burns to the soles of her feet at an early age, Ms. Aldatz never fully recovered and later in life began searching for ways to make her shoes fit more comfortably.
In 2001, after extensive research, designing and engineering, she launched Foot Petals designer insoles. Foot Petals, which was acquired by R.G. Barry Corporation in January of 2011, now manufactures more than 20 types of products sold at fine retailers worldwide and online.
Prior to launching her company, Ms. Aldatz honed her skills in the fashion industry working in retail management for Victoria's Secret before being named Merchandising Manager for BCBG, where she learned the art of brand-building under the guidance of designer Max Azria.
A certified pedorthist, Ms. Aldatz is widely regarded as a comfort expert while Foot Petals is embraced by the medical community. The American Podiatric Medical Association has endorsed the brand and top podiatrists regularly refer patients to Foot Petals products. In addition to having garnered a cult-like following among shoe lovers, the brand is lauded by fashion editors, celebrities, and notable stylists including Patricia Field and Rachel Zoe.
