David Lyle is an unscripted-television expert whose career spans 25 years across more than 20 countries.
In August, David was appointed CEO of National Geographic Channels US. Previously, David Lyle was head of the west coast office for the National Geographic Channel. Before his switch to overseeing non-fiction programming at National Geographic Channel, Lyle was President at Fox LOOK a company specializing in the international licensing and production of unscripted programming. Before that, Mr. Lyle was President of Fox Reality Channel where he oversaw the launch of notable series such as American Idol Extra, The Academy, Solitary, Long Way Down, Househusbands of Hollywood and the Fox Reality Channel Really Awards. He also has served in senior executive positions at successful production and television companies, such as FremantleMedia, Pearson Television, and Australia's Nine Network.
In addition to his corporate leadership, Mr. Lyle was a founding member of FRAPA (Format Recognition and Protection Association) and served as Chairman from 2000 to 2006. FRAPA brings together format creators from around the world to protect their intellectual property.
