Supermodel, businesswoman and UNICEF UK Ambassador Claudia Schiffer speaks about the right of all children to get a quality education.
Supermodel and businesswoman Claudia Schiffer became a UNICEF UK Ambassador in 1997. She travelled to Bangladesh in 2000 to take part in UNICEF's International Immunization Day and raise vital awareness about vaccinating children against deadly and debilitating diseases.
Ms. Schiffer followed the journey made by UNICEF polio vaccines and vaccination teams across Bangladesh's most remote rural villages. In the process, she saw UNICEF's work in the field firsthand.
Since then, Ms. Schiffer has pledged her support for the Unite for Children, Unite against AIDS global campaign.
"As a new mother, I want to give my children the best start in life, but millions of children affected with AIDS don't live with such certainty," she says. "We can make a difference in a child's life by joining with UNICEF to ensure that mothers and children are given the treatment that they deserve, in order to live a life free from HIV and AIDS."
