On the segment “What is religion” she gives no real answer. She merely states that religion is faith but that faith does not give certainty? Surely faith by definition is certainty. A lack of certainty must mean a lack of faith unless one is stating that I have faith (I know) that Jesus might have existed. That is just ridiculous rubbish. Ahhh! Now I get it. She is saying religion is ridiculous rubbish. Well said Karen. Can't be bothered with the rest of it once i got to the old "god transcends our understanding" chestnut.

Every self-proclaimed "Believer" and "NON-BELIEVER" would benefit from Karen Armstrongs' wisdom. She is the author of THE HISTORY OF GOD, the Battle for God and many more books that address the issues of God in current times. She brings an understanding to those who are searching for answers, those who reject the status quo and most of all she inspires everyone who listens.

Karen Armstrong is by far one of the most lucid writers on the subject of religion I have ever come across. I definitely recommend her books in particular her own autobiography The Spiral Staircase.
